Gursky

A few weeks ago we went to the opening of the Andreas Gursky exhibit at the Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills. His photos were amazing and the people watching was out of this world. Jon was taking photos of the works and non other than John Waters started talking to him about taking photos of photos. Can it get any cooler than that?

This isn't over til I say when... When.

Last week Jon and I met up with Corny and Rian for Umami Burgers and a night of music from Swedish bands El Perro Del Mar and Taken by Trees at the Troubadour. The burgers SO good, the music even better, the company amazing.

Travel (with) the Globe

We went home super early Monday morning and I had to hand carry my globe lamp. The whole weekend Jon kept teasing me saying I wouldn't be able to do it but I did it I held him in the cab, carried that darn thing through security while we waited to board it sat at my feet and helped entertain a 2 year old girl for about a half hour (her parents were grateful!), carried it on the plane, stowed it and then carried it to pick up the luggage and then to the car. So see Jon you didn't have to do anything! ;)

(Jon did want me to take a picture of him carrying the globe)

Sun-Date SF Style

Sunday was our last day in San Francisco and it was a full date-day at that. We started at the De Young Museum. We walked around and enjoyed all of our surroundings. One of the exhibits was of Amish Quilts which are the most insanely intricate and beautiful works of art. Jon was able to snap a few pictures before getting caught (so strange I only thought there was no flash photography at museums? But it was just this exhibit no cameras allowed? Weird.). After the exhibit we took the elevator up to the observation tower. Its like being in Star Wars, the view is phenomenal of the city the museum grounds and all of the trees- always a real treat. Next we went to North Beach to City Lights Book Store and then had a very tasty lunch at Cafe Zoetrope (the olive oil there is so so so good!!). We went back to the hotel for a quick nap and then wandered around the city for a while before heading back to North Beach for dinner at a cute Italian spot. The best part was they were showing the Oscars! There was no sound but I think that forced us to really watch it and not fast forward because we were trying to figure out who was who and what was going on. After dinner we headed over to Michelle and Jared's for dessert -cannolis- We were able to catch their girls right when they were getting tucked into bed. The cutest little girls ever! Then we all got to catch up for a while which is always the fun. Michelle and Jared are the greatest. Everyone had had a long weekend so we couldn't hang too long not to mention the fact that we had an early flight and still had to pack. Yet another fantastic and day and night with my wonderful Date in San Francisco!

bang trim.

Saturday night we had made plans with Ashley and Danielle for dinner at the Front Porch and then to meet my girl friend Sharon at the Elbow Room for a little dancing. Well we did go to dinner at the Front Porch which was amazing (as always!) I had the shrimp grits which were the greatest. Then we went to the Elbow Room and completely missed Sharon which sucked so hard!
Anyway Jon had the camera along but I think from the long day we had had and the wonderful company he forgot about it. All that was documented was Ashley giving my poor bangs a trim. They look fantastic and I am obsessed with them now. Thanks Ashley!!!
