a wonderful day...

Jon, my parents, and I were invited to attend Taryne and Nishan's wedding. Taryne is my godparents daughter. Taryne was nice enough to take me shoe shopping when I was in my early teens. The wedding was at the Regent Beverly Wilshire. Two ceremonies- one in a church, the other a buddhist one at the reception site. Taryne wore three different insanely beautiful dresses (I so wish I would have thought of making wardrobe changes at the my wedding I did change my shoes which was planned...). It was probably the greatest wedding I have ever been to (other than my own).. the people, the flow of the wedding, the music, the food, everything was so great!

Lazarides presents : Euro Trash

Jon and I went to the Euro Trash exhibit at Lazaride's pop up gallery in Beverly Hills. Loved everything there. Loved visiting with our girl Naama. Loved spending time with Jon.

this is what I get for canceling my appointment...

(I am totally not complaining by the way) I made an appointment to get my nails done, on my way there felt guilty for spending money (why this time? I don't know) So I cancelled my appointment and turned around and drove home. When I got home Jon told me I was crazy and that this is my one major luxury and made me call to get my appointment back. This was a day I don't usually go so the receptionist didn't get what was going on Cindy got on the phone and told me to hurry back. She had no time so she told me she couldn't do design yet she still did. Totally simple totally plain for Cindy! No complaints here...

Marc Shorts

last fall I was looking at Marc Jacobs runway saw these shorts, added them to my 'create it' folder, and totally forgot about them. A few weeks ago I was looking at sale clothes on the Barney's website and saw these shorts and again added them to my 'create it' folder. I was just cleaning out my 'create it' folder and noticed all of these photos and realized I really need to make a pair of these shorts. I will keep you posted on my progress...

The Ghost Who Walks

Jon, Khyun and I were lucky enough to go see Karen Elson perform songs from her album 'the Ghost Who Walks' live at Spaceland. Her voice was fantastic, the music so good, she was just so cute/ beautiful. Super great time. Sorry for so many photos I couldn't decide what i liked best...

Miike Snow.

Miike Snow played a bunch of dates in LA. Everything was sold out. I found out one of our friends brothers is in the band and lamely asked if she could even get us tickets to purchase as I was dying to go. She got us tickets at the the last minute but both Jon and I had had a super rough day and ended up staying in. Then I got an email that they would be playing at the 'historic' Fox Theater in Pomona and that yes tickets were still available. We got tickets and went. Neither Jon nor I have been to Pomona since right before we got married (which is 6 years ago and is insane!) that part of Pomona is so different and so cool. We want to go back and explore. The Fox theater is gorgeous, and Miike Snow were SO GOOD. I mean their music, performance totally killer. I can't wait for them to come through town again.

Redondo Beach Pier/Dad's Bday!

This ceramic shark is way stoked...

The real deal....

Happy Birthday!

We celebrated my Dad's bday by going to eat at the Redondo Beach Pier. Jon and I got there early so we walked around and did a little exploring. For $1.50 we were able to stop into a souvenir shop and visit the Great White Shark exhibit which was a 16 and a half foot long shark corpse that was on display. Jon is a huge fan of sharks so he was super excited! Finally we met up with my family ate dinner and then headed to my brothers 'house on the beach' to present my dad with his cake which was made up of 10 mini napoleon cakes from Whole Foods (my Dad love love loves napoleon cake and after sampling them from just about anywhere and everywhere we have all come to the conclusion that the mini ones from Whole Foods are by far the tastiest and the greatest) My Dad loved it. A very interesting (thanks to the shark), tasty, and fun night.

An evening with the Flight of the Conchords

A few months back Jon and I got tickets to see the Flight of the Conchords at the Hollywood Bowl. I have been working like crazy, and Jon has been working at his job like crazy as well as helping me out during his free time so to say we are both incredibly tired and burned out is an understatement. So finally come time for the show we (really I) were going back and fourth on going to the show or staying home. Luckily Jon was never questioning going and gave me the push I needed and we went. We had a fantastic time they were hilarious and even performed 'Business Time' (a song that two different friends had turned us on to... One Erika would always sing it to me when we would be working, and then Michelle sent me the video randomly) which was just amazing. Another fun and funny night with the greatest date ever.
