New Hampshire Currier and Ives trail....

For the drive back to Boston from Vermont we googled 'things to do in New England' there were a bunch of things to do such as visit the Anheuser Busch Clydesdales (we missed the closing time), visit the Cape Cod potato chip factory (it was a little too far), drive to Maine and visit the LL Bean factory, which would include a drive up the coast that would be beautiful (however we would have to drive down to Boston and then drive north to Maine), visit the Cathedral of the Pines (this was closed at the time). One activity that did look interesting had zero time constraints, and was on the way back with just the slightest detour was the Currier and Ives trail. The Currier and Ives trail is 30 miles long following route 127.One gets to see the "true beauty of small town New England'" as well two historic covered bridges. The drive is absolutely breath taking. Although passing 99% of the homes Jon kept asking "what do these people do for a living all the way out here" and "I could never live all the way out here" and I was totally thinking the opposite (not forever but for a couple of months). We were able to stop and visit both bridges (by accident I might add as we were able to map out the actual trail and totally guessed our way through it!).
Next time I would like a little more time to stop and explore each stop. A wonderful detour on our drive back to Boston with the best date ever....
